Lang Ranch Elementary 2011
Only where love and need are one,
And the work is play for mortal stakes,
Is the deed ever really done
For Heaven and the future's sakes.

What could be a more important joy, or happy job than raising our children? In this country, there is a growing epidemic, not only of obesity, but also of children out of touch with their own bodies. Physical activity is neglected when it is as essential to a child as a healthy diet. That is why I have give time whenever I can to work with children.
Even before I moved here from the Boston area, I worked with kids in schools and in other venues. In the past two years, I have taught an six-week after school enrichment course at Willow Elementary in Agoura, and led programs for fitness weeks at A.E. Wright Middle School in Calabasas and Lang Ranch Elementary in Thousand Oaks. In the past, I have even run Pilates birthday parties and programs for Brownie/Girl Scout groups.
the Strong Body Studio was the only yoga, Pilates or bodywork organization featured as part of Lang Ranch Elementary's Green Ribbon Week this past year. That program has been nominated for a the Spotlight Governor's Award.
