Charisse Glenn, Malibu Endurance Riders

Charisse Glenn of Malibu Endurance Riders (Click here for website) has been training for the last three years for the USA Endurance Team, one of 8 disciplines to participate in the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG). It will be held September 26, in Lexington, KY.  She is the only So Cal rider qualified and nominated for the World Equestrian Games.

Endurance riding is a true test of the connection between rider and horse.  The races are 50 to 100 miles long over many different types of terrain.  Competitors are not only judged on speed, but also on the overall condition at the end of the race.

Charisse Glenn began her Endurance career in 1996.  She was hired to train horses owned by Shiek Maktoum of the UAE. She took that opportunity and trained his horses for 7 years.

Her approach is holistic. She approaches the horse’s training, placing her focus on nutrition, conditioning, balance of the body and development of the mind.

She incorporates a Chiropractor and Equine Therapist into her training on a regular schedule. Because of this, she believes her horses are able to perform better, no matter how difficult the competition.

I admire her as strong woman who has focussed on this goal for many years, preparing both herself and her beloved horses to be ready for global level competition.
