Meredith Gold, a consultant to the Strong Body Studio, Black Belt Magazine Woman of the Year and the developer of the R-A-W Power program, will be conducting a Women's Self Defense Workshop at the Studio from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on February 12.

R-A-W (Ready-Able-Willing) Power uses the revolutionary Adrenal-Stress Scenario Training (ASST) method to help you become Ready-Aware-Willing to effectively deal with a real world confrontation.

You will learn first hand what techniques will and won't work in a wide variety of highly realistic scenarios designed to recreate situations ranging from setting boundaries with friends, family or co-workers, all the way to protecting yourself against a full force physical assault.
This interactive workshop offers an overview of the R-A-W Power program. You will practice awareness, verbal boundary setting and de-escalation skills in dynamic "role plays" that simulate a variety of real world encounters. You will also learn simple, effective physical self defense techniques and practice them using the revolutionary Adrenal Stress Scenario Training (ASST) method. You will then have the rare opportunity to feel the effects of an authentic adrenaline rush while defending yourself full-force, full-speed in a realistic scenario against our padded, mock-assailant. High energy and empowering, this workshop will leave you wanting more!

Whether you are an experienced martial artist or a complete novice, R-A-W Power will help you access your fighting spirit and discover a whole new level of commitment, control and confidence!

My daughter and I took this workshop together.  It was so powerful watching  Elizabeth act with decision, strength and authority when she was attacked.  Afterwards, we all gathered and watched each of our fights, seeing ourselves and the other women we had worked with as they all acted with similar power.

We all want our daughters to be as independent as they can, but we also want them to be safe.  And us Moms as well need the skills to protect ourselves in these kinds of scenarios. (Due to the realistically coarse language and basic physical size required for this workshop, the minimum age for participants is 14.)

I urge all mothers to do this class with their teenage daughters.  It is a gift of strength that could save their lives!!!
