Vernal Equinox - 2011 Noruz

Click here to listen to the Studio playlist inspired by the first day of Spring!

The Persian New Year celebration of Noruz (Nouruz) meaning New Day  starts on the Vernal Equinox (much more logical than the Julian Calendar's January 1 to my mind).  It is a tradition going back to ancient Babylon.  LIke many New Year traditions, it entails a cleaning out of the old and preparing for the new.

In Celtic traditions, spring involved the Mummer's festival sung in the Loreena McKinnett track here.  It is a celebration of the sun's return bringing new growth and possibilities

Spring is always a time for fresh starts.  Come to the Studio to find your new beginning, your new day!!!
